Shocks & Struts

Shock & Strut Replacement Services

Your vehicle is an intricate machine that depends on many parts to operate. These parts include shocks or struts. Shocks and struts aren't interchangeable, but they have similarities. Both play an essential part in ride comfort, and both wear over time and from use.

While you won't be replacing them often (you may even only need to replace them once during your vehicle's life depending on your vehicle and the quality of the factory parts), you won't want to drive with bad ones for long.

At University Off-Road, we replace shocks and struts to ensure your vehicle continues to drive like it should. We also specialize in lift and level kits if you're looking to raise your ground clearance. We have great offerings, such as BDS Suspension and FOX Suspension.

What's the Difference Between Shocks & Struts?

Shock absorbers are responsible for reducing bounce as you drive. This is their sole purpose.

Struts are a structural part of the suspension system. They reduce bounce and play several other, significant roles. Each strut has a coil spring wrapped around it that helps support your vehicle. Struts are also responsible in part for positioning the wheels.

Is it time for New Shocks or Struts? One way to tell it's time to replace your shocks or struts is to place a hand on a corner of your vehicle and press down. A good shock or strut will return the vehicle to the center and stop. A worn shock or strut will continue moving before stopping.

New shocks and struts can improve vehicle handling, increase brake life, and make your drive more comfortable. Contact University Off-Road for a smoother ride today! We serve Auburn, AL, Opelika, AL, Loachapoka, AL, and surrounding areas.
